Carlisle Container Company

Thinking outside the box

My professional packaging experience

Right before I finished my time at Millersville University, I attended a job fair to see what companies had openings for recent or upcoming grads. One of the few recruiters I spoke to was the previous Graphics Artist here at Carlisle Container. I offered my resume & I was told I might receive a call within a few days. Now, 2 years later and I’ve filled his spot as the whole art department.

I’ve learned plenty about the ins & outs of digital printing during my time here. Accounting for the technological limitations of each machine, the importance of intrapersonal communications between departments, & the unique capabilities of the Nozomi 14000 to name a few. Being able to communicate to customers and coworkers about concepts of design is a valuable lesson that can be carried almost anywhere.

I’ve also taken the time to perfect more practical qualities while here. Shortcuts that produce quality results & growing a greater cofidence in the fundamentals are common place in my everyday work.

(I wish I could provide samples of my work, but any art produced is property of Carlisle Container Company.)
